A BRIEF HISTORY OF WALKER EQUIPMENT

1952 – Began business as an Engineering & Power Tool Supplier to the building industry and engineering workshops, quickly establishing itself as a key supplier for national brands of high quality Power Tools.

1960’s – The business began to concentrate on retailing Power Tools, Wood Working Machinery and Power Tool Accessories with an emphasis on high quality products at ‘fair’ prices.

1977 - Commenced importing high quality Power Tool Accessories to suit the growing influence of Japanese branded power tools. As an example Walker Equipment was the original importer of thin kerf saw blades with the Japanese premium brand, Koyo.
During this time the Craftmaster brand was born with our range of Router Bits and Tungsten Carbide Tipped Circular Saw Blades. Craftmaster remains a strong brand with a very high market share percentage.

1980’s - The retail stores closed as the focus changed to a pure wholesale operation selling to Power Tool Specialist retailers and Hardware stores.

1999 - Became the Australian Agent for the largest Benchtop manufacturer in the world, Rexon Corporation who export to over 70 countries worldwide.

Today – Walker Equipment remains a strong player in the Power Tool and Accessory market with a broad range of products catering for both the trade and the home handyman.
