1952
– Began business as an Engineering & Power Tool
Supplier to the building industry and engineering workshops,
quickly establishing itself as a key supplier for national
brands of high quality Power Tools.
1960’s
– The business began to concentrate on retailing Power
Tools, Wood Working Machinery and Power Tool Accessories with
an emphasis on high quality products at ‘fair’
prices.
1977
- Commenced importing high quality Power Tool Accessories
to suit the growing influence of Japanese branded power tools.
As an example Walker Equipment was the original importer of
thin kerf saw blades with the Japanese premium brand, Koyo.
During this time the Craftmaster brand was born with our range
of Router Bits and Tungsten Carbide Tipped Circular Saw Blades.
Craftmaster remains a strong brand with a very high market
share percentage.
1980’s
- The retail stores closed as the focus changed to a pure
wholesale operation selling to Power Tool Specialist retailers
and Hardware stores.
1999
- Became the Australian Agent for the largest Benchtop manufacturer
in the world, Rexon Corporation who export to over 70 countries
worldwide.
Today
– Walker Equipment remains a strong player in the Power
Tool and Accessory market with a broad range of products catering
for both the trade and the home handyman.
